Organic Lily Absolute (extracted by Enfleurage)

Most Lily Absolutes are solvent extracted using harsh chemicals. Make a better choice and choose our 100% pure all natural organic Lily Absolute (Lilium auratum), extracted by the ancient method of Enfleurage.

Our organic Lily Absolute is pure undiluted Lily Oil extracted by the ancient method of Enfleurage. Our Therapeutic Quality Lily Oil not only emits a wonderful aroma but it is quite and effective natural aphrodisiac.

While our 100% Pure All Natural Lily Oil is technically an absolute, it is most rare, coming from a small grower/extractor in South America who extracts the lily essenital oil from the lily flower petals by the ancient method of enfleurage. Only palm oil (organic) and alcohol (organic) derived from local sugar cane (organic) are used in the tubersose oil extraction process. The entire process of extracting the lily oil is done by hand using no heat. Pure local palm oil is used to absorb the aromatic oils from the lily flower petals. Once the palm oil is completely saturated with the essence of the lily flower then it is mixed with the organic cane sugar alcohol. The lily oils then combine with the alcohol and the palm oil is poured off. Lastly, the alcohol is evaporated to leave only the pure Lily oil.

More Info: The process for producing the Lily Absolute by Enfleurage is quite labor intensive and requires many pounds of lily flower petals per ml of oil but the results are quite astounding. If you close your eyes and inhale the aroma of the oil, you'll find that the aromatic essence is quite similar to that of the actual lily flower. For a more complete description of the organic enfleurage extraction process, go to our web page: Enfleurage

Lily absolute (Lilium auratum) is one of the most precious oils in the world and is renouned for its' mesmerizing aroma and fragrance. The light, sweet-floral fragrance of the Lily flower is quite distinct from all others. Perfumes using the subtle aroma of the Lily are considered to be quite fabulous and are very expensive. In fact, a simple Lily Perfume can be made by simply diluting the Lily Essential Oil to about 5% in a carrier or base oil on in alcohol or a combo of the two.

Lily oil cannot be distilled like most essential oils due to the delicate nature of the flowers. Enfleurage was the traditional method of extraction used in ancient Egypt and into the early 20th century but solvent extraction using hexane, to create "absolutes", has virtually replaced enfleurage, except, of course, for our own Lily Absolute. Solvent extracted Lily is used extensively by the perfume industry but, again, not by us (no chemicals other than organic alcohol are used to extract the Lily Essential Oil that we sell). Either method (enfleurage or solvent extraction) is time consuming and the lily essential oil yields are quite small for the amount of materials used. Over 3500 pounds of blossoms are needed to produce 1 pound of the essential oil which is why Lily Essential Oil is one of the more expensive oils on earth
